ANDREW WALLIN
Andrew Wallin joined Sweeten CPA in July 2017. Before beginning his career in public accounting, Andrew served in the United States Navy on a nuclear submarine based out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He graduated in 2007 from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with an Emphasis in Accounting. He also earned a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco in 2015. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, as he worked in both California and Texas prior to joining our team. He brings new specializations and skills to the office and expands our expertise as a firm.
Tax Manager
Ann Brooke is an experienced bookkeeper, tax preparer, and Tax Process Manager, a daunting task now that our processed tax returns per year exceed 800. She earned her degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University, and completed the Accounting Series at Austin Community College in 2006. She was hand-picked by Michele to join our firm, and is an essential part of our success. She has instituted and manages a paperless project management system that allows our divergent team to instantly be updated on the progress of our tax project boards.

Cari Vincent, CPA, began working with Sweeten CPA in 2016. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Louisville in 1997 while also a single, working mother, with two young children, fulfilling a dream she’d had since high school. Cari has been certified as a CPA in the Commonwealth of Kentucky since 2001 and in the state of Texas since 2007. She's worked in both the private sector as a financial analyst and in public accounting as a Senior Tax Accountant, Auditor, and representative for taxpayers before the IRS. Cari has a passion for tax and helping clients understand how tax law affects their business and personal returns. She also enjoys digging into the details of a client’s financial information, and putting all of the puzzle pieces together for them. She is also QuickBooks certified, and is proficient in a wide range of tax and accounting software. Cari currently spends her free time chasing around her two year old granddaughter, Eliza, crocheting, reading, enjoying music, and spending time with her husband, Chuck, and their 17 year old kitty, Zeus.
Angela Angelo began working with Sweeten CPA in 2012. A CPA with the state of Texas since 1997, Angela is knowledgeable with taxes as well as proficient in a wide range of accounting software and is Quickbooks certified. She has 30+ years of experience in diverse financial roles including, most recently, various financial supervisory roles at the University of Texas at Austin (go Longhorns!) and Senior Budget Analyst for the city of Plano, Texas. She has two bachelor’s degrees in political science and accounting from Southwestern University and University of Texas at Dallas, respectively.

A natural with people, Anabel Chiman joined Sweeten CPA in 2018 as our E-File Specialist. She is great at managing the tail end of the tax return process, which makes the whole tax team function. Her experience is in people, organization, and accounting. We're so glad to have her with us!

Lisabeth Yeager started at Sweeten in July 2018 and graduated from Southwestern University with a B.A. in History and Sociology. Though she started doing accounting in Austin by accident, she found a passion for it and went back to school for her CPA in 1993. Her flexibility and love of the art of accounting make her a great fit for the firm. She brings over 20 years of experience working for The State of Texas in the Lottery Commission, an intense and rewarding career where she was Chief Accountant, overseeing the complex and nuanced lottery accounting procedures! Now, she lives on an 84 acre ranch where she enjoys her horses and dogs, as well as the occasional early morning of fishing.

Sage West graduated in 2016 from Texas State University with a Master of Accountancy degree, focusing on tax. From barista to tax drafter, they found their new career home in the welcoming arms of tax work and brought the love of a good puzzle with them to the team. They’re a natural fit at Sweeten! When not working diligently on our clients’ tax returns, they love to explore the outdoors with their two dogs. If you need local vegan restaurant recommendations, Sage is your person!

Don graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in Accounting in 1977. He was one of the 3 new staff members hired to help open the new office of Coopers & Lybrand in Austin and worked as an auditor – supervising new auditors the second year. After that he left to work for a local firm and got introduced to small businesses and tax returns. He started his own practice in 1981 and grew it to 9 team members with a concentration in tax for small businesses and individuals until he merged with Sweeten CPA in January of 2023, and is enjoying no longer running a business! His passion is helping clients, especially when it also can save them taxes!

Karin Mahajan has occupied many different financial seats over her career so far. From managing multi-entity company financials to preforming construction audits to drafting and reviewing hundreds of tax returns. She brings attention to detail and customer satisfaction to her daily work. Whenever she is not deep in a tax return, you can find her playing tennis at her favorite country clubs and spending time with her family and extended family.

Holly joined the firm in 2023 after more than 25 years’ experience as a tax accountant, finance and wealth manager, and business consultant within a broad range of business disciplines including client investment strategies, cash flow management, risk management, estate planning, tax planning, business, and individual tax preparation. Holly craves a good challenge and doesn’t believe in word “can’t.” She earned her Enrolled Agent License shortly after finishing her Master’s in Science and Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting from Wilmington University in Delaware, where she made the Dean’s List and was a member of the Delta Epsilon Rho Honor Society. Holly has been married to her husband for 30 years and loves raising their four children or spending time with their 3 grandchildren. Some of her hobbies include painting, decorating, and shopping for the best bargain.

Luis joined Sweeten CPA in May 2023. He began his accounting career in Mexico, where he completed a Master's in Corporate Finance. He’s licensed as a CPA in Canada, the U.S. (Texas), and Mexico, serving and expanding Sweeten’s clients in North America and Latin America. He has extensive experience in financial advisory, business strategy, tax planning, costs, and international operations. He loved Austin for the perfect combination of nature, city, music, and good food. He loves his profession so much that he waits to see the accountants who participated in the production in the credits after watching a movie in the theater!

JENNIFER LOGUE
Jennifer Logue began working with Sweeten CPA in 2023. She was born in Wisconsin, raised near Chicago, but got to Texas as fast as she could. She graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in Accounting in 1994. She has worked in bookkeeping and tax with various industries helping businesses with accounting systems from business startups to perfecting long term systems for established businesses. Her passion is helping people use accounting tools that work for them with a close eye on helping their businesses save money. She recently fostered her first dog for the Weimaraner Rescue of Texas and loves daily walks with her dog. She enjoys cooking and is always happy to feed family, friends, church members, and people in the neighborhood.
Tax Drafter
We welcomed Ryan McDonald to our team in 2022. After 20 years of mastering the restaurant industry, he’s taking his customer service and interpersonal skills to a new field. Ryan processes through documents and special projects like it’s rush dinner service. More than his love for helping, he loves to be a team player that makes you laugh. Ryan did not 86 his love of food when he changed industries, though! During off hours, he can be found cooking and experimenting with different cuisines. He is always excited to take or give recipe suggestions!
