Abigail Jones

Vice President, CPA 

With a degree in mathematics, a masters in accounting, and a CPA license, Abigail is a certified number nerd. For her advisory clients, she excels in ungnarling accounting processes, tying out sister entity transactions, and supporting clients through GAAP audits. As vice president, her passion for management makes her a force of nature. She is tireless in her pursuit of peace, organization, and connection, for her own work and for each member of the team. When she isn't making up new words, she enjoys a tranquil life of reading, exercising, and listening to her daughters talk about dinosaurs.

Andrew Wallin

Tax Manager, CPA

Andrew Wallin is one of the shareholders of Sweeten CPA, and the Tax Department Manager. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with an Emphasis in Accounting, and also has a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He specializes in business returns, Mergers & Acquisitions, and international taxation issues.

Alyssa Jones

Support Team Lead & Executive Assistant

Alyssa joined our team in April of 2023. She's a Wisconsinite who found herself wanting to start a new adventure in Texas! She has prior experience in customer service and is always seeking ways she can help support her team, and take on new projects. Alyssa shows an aptitude for not only creative projects but owns administrative systems like none other. In her downtime, she switches between growing her book collection and searching for the next binge-worthy show.

Angela Angelo

CPA

Angela Angelo began working with Sweeten CPA in 2012. A CPA with the state of Texas since 1997, Angela has grown her knowledge in taxes through her wide range of financial roles including governmental budget and grant management. She has degrees in political science and accounting from Southwestern University and University of Texas at Dallas, respectively. Angela is known at the firm for her efficient turnaround time and quick wit!

Anabel Chiman

E-File Manager

A natural with people, Anabel Chiman joined Sweeten CPA in 2018 as our E-File Specialist. Her experience is in people, organization, and accounting. She is great at managing the tail end of the tax return process, which makes the whole tax team function. She is diligent in getting the i's dotted and the t's crossed. We're so glad to have her with us!

Ann Brooke

Operations Manager

For over two decades, Ann has kept the wheels turning. While she started out as a bookkeeper, then a tax drafter, she is now the Operations Manager. It might surprise you, or not surprise you, that Ann's background is in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University. It wasn't until later that she learned to love a different kind of numbers when completing the Accounting Series at Austin Community College. She injects tranquility and compassion in every facet of her role. A completed checklist means more time in the mountains with her family, her books, and her dog!

Brandon Brock

Bookkeeper & Tax Drafter

With a liberal arts degree focused in film, Brandon decided he'd write his own plot twist and ventured into the technicolor world of bookkeeping. While the script is slightly different than the big screen, he is learning the angles of QuickBooks and the composition of reports. His love of small "indie" businesses helps him master the books for all niches of Austin. In his off hours, Brandon immerses himself in all things film, whether it’s watching movies, learning history, or collecting scores and soundtracks on record.

David Rabinowitz

Logistics Manager

David came to Sweeten CPA after a rich and diverse resume with USAA, Southwest Research Institute, Armstrong Laboratory of the U.S. Air Force and many more companies. When he came on in 2015 as Office Manager it was to fill an immediate need, but he found that the environment of Sweeten CPA was too good to leave. He has grown to leading the structural projects that gives him immense satisfaction and the opportunity to exercise his wit and passion for problem solving. He is also one heck of a poker player.

Don Grefe

CPA

Don graduated from the University of Texas with a BBA in Accounting in 1977. He started his own practice in 1981 and grew it to 9 team members with a concentration in tax for small businesses and individuals until he merged with Sweeten CPA in January of 2023, and is enjoying no longer running a business! His passion is helping clients, especially when it also can save them taxes!

Jennifer DeVoe

Bookkeeper and Tax Drafter

Jennifer joined Sweeten CPA as a bookkeeper in April 2024. She was called to the Austin area from the Midwest to fill the role of Aunt Jen. Having dedicated her first career to the veterinary clinic, she decided to move to the less furry path of accounting. Although she is leaving her stethoscope behind, she is bringing her diligence, attention to detail, and a passion to help others. Outside of work, her life is rich with many interests, from trying new recipes in her kitchen, planning an adventure somewhere beautiful, and growing tomatoes on her back porch.

Tax Team Lead, CPA

Cari Vincent

Cari began working with Sweeten CPA in 2016. She has been a CPA in Kentucky since 2001 and in Texas since 2007. She's worked in both the private sector as a financial analyst and in public accounting as a Senior Tax Accountant. Cari has a passion for helping clients understand how tax law affects their business and personal returns. Like how she tends to her rose garden, she enjoys digging into the details of a client’s financial information and producing blooms wherever she can.

Christiana Schaefer

Bookkeeping Department Manager

Christiana Schaefer joined the team as a bookkeeper in 2013.  With experience in both payroll and tax, she uses her knowledge to review, analyze, and keep every set of books running smoothly.  She is Quickbooks Online and Xero certified and when she's not detangling a bookkeeping problem, she helps new bookkeepers learn the ropes.  In her spare time, you can find her tending to her ever-growing garden or cozy on the couch watching movies with her family and pets.

Devanie Sether

Support & Executive Assistant

Karen Moore brings a wealth of experience and a passion for connection to her role as Human Resources Coordinator. Before joining our team, Karen spent 20 years at IBM, where she served as a PMI Certified Project Manager. Known for her structured approach and genuine care for others, Karen thrives at the intersection of process and people. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her three children and two energetic dogs.

Devanie joined our team in January 2024, bringing an enthusiasm for supporting the team and her executive. She brings with her experience in administration, HR, and event planning. Devanie thrives when the team thrives. When she isn't helping Michele rock her task list, she extends her skills to support our clients. When not working, this published author enjoys writing in her favorite neighborhood coffee spots.

Diana Zadylak

Support Team Member

From the desert of Las Vegas to the hill country of Austin, Diana came to Sweeten CPA in December of 2024. She has a diverse background in customer service and education settings, she has a passion for prompt and compassionate support. Diana is excited to make the front office her domain and join the Support Team at Sweeten CPA. Before and after work, you might see her buzz through a local coffee shop around town. Ask her what her favorite brew of the month is!

Hannah Roberts

Bookkeeper

Hannah, a rare Austin native, joined Sweeten in 2023. With a background in childcare, she brings a thoughtful, people-centered perspective to her work. Drawn to bookkeeping for its structure and steady rhythm, she appreciates the clarity and consistency it offers. Outside the office, she spends time with her cats and curates unique, vintage finds for her home.

Jackie Sweeten

Client Relations Manager

Jackie has worn many hats over the 20+ years she has been with Sweeten CPA and has settled into her favorite role as Client Relations Manager. Her experience as an Entrepreneur, bookkeeper, tax drafter, Escrow and Legal Assistant affords her with capabilities to work within systems efficiently. Jackie can wrap her mind around a process and find the best outcome whether it's formations or terminations for state issues, setup or issues with QBO and payroll, or navigating client relationships. When she isn't saving the day, she is an avid hunter and works her way through her bucket list of adventures.

Jennifer Logue

Tax Drafter

Jennifer Logue began working with Sweeten CPA in 2023 with her BBA degree from University of Texas in Accounting and years of experience ready to use. She knows how to support businesses from the start up to long-established stage in various different industries. Her passion is helping people use accounting tools that work for them with a close eye on helping their businesses save money. With her Weimaraner by her side, you can find her in the kitchen always cooking for her family, friends, coworkers, church members, and neighbors.
